Farm Ops Offering Veteran Scholarships for Soil Health & Climate Resiliency Field Days
This scholarship supports a veteran’s attendance to one of the nine field days being offered in July and August 2022. Veterans may request reimbursement for mileage and registration fees in addition to a $100 participation stipend to offset related costs.
Eligibility. The scholarship recipient must be a U.S. military veteran, including those currently serving. Veterans must reside in either New York or New Jersey. This scholarship cannot be transferred to a non-veteran family member. In most cases, field day coordinators allow family members to attend with you; check with the coordinator for the event in which you decide to register.
Steps:
Step 1. Register to attend one of the nine field day events. Go to theĀ 2022 Soil Health and Climate Resiliency Field Day site. Review the event dates, locations, and topics list and register for the event that is right for you.
Step 2. Confirm your desire to request a scholarship. Go to theĀ Field Day Scholarship Request Form and fill it out. This form simply assists us in keeping track of how many veterans plan to submit reimbursement and stipend forms. It also includes the question for you to attest that you are a veteran, so we do not have to ask you again later in the process. We will use the email address you provide to send you the mileage reimbursement form and processing instructions. Note: You must be a veteran that resides in the states of N.Y. or N.J.
Step 3. Attend the training/workshop. Remember to keep receipts for registration fees and track your mileage to and from the event. You will need this information to submit for reimbursement. Most importantly, enjoy the training!
Step 4. Submit paperwork for reimbursement. A travel reimbursement form with attached receipts must be submitted along with an event evaluation no later than 15 days after the event.
