This week, the 2021 Northeast Cover Crops Council’s conference takes place for the first time virtually.
On Thursday, March 4, the conference will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Topics covered during this conference include cover crop research, interseeding, cover crop seed (planting, varieties, and improvements), using robotic developments and artificial intelligence to innovate cover cropping regimes, weed management, research collaborations with farmers, and more.
The plenary speakers are Joel Gruver, associate professor of soil science and sustainable agriculture at Western Illinois University; Mickie Swisher, associate professor of sustainable agriculture and director of the Center for Sustainable & Organic Food Systems at the University of Florida; and Chris Reberg-Horton, associate professor of organic cropping systems and extension organic cropping specialist at North Carolina State University.
The Northeast Cover Crops Council’s goal is to support the successful implementation of cover crops to maximize economic, environmental, and social benefits. The conference is open to farmers, researchers, and the general public.
The conference fee is $75.00 per attendee.
An online poster session and video contest will also be held during the virtual conference.
