In February 2021, State Senator Michelle Hinchey (D-Saugerties), State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Binghamton), and co-sponsor Assemblywoman Didi Barrett (D-Hudson) introduced the Soil Health and Climate Resiliency Act.
CCE Tompkins has recently worked closely with farmers across Tompkins county to document sustainable farming practices and from the survey respondents, eight farms ranging in size from 3 acres to over 5,000 acres were selected as subjects for case studies.
